Eternal Draft Rankings for Season 13 (Unleashed): Time Commons

This is my review of the twelve Time commons available in the Unleashed Draft Format.
To quote Hamlet himself, this rather milquetoast card is "not to be".

Ranking: D

There are a lot of silly relics in this format. This is one of them.

Ranking: D

Not entirely useless. Just mostly useless.

Ranking: D+

One of the central cards to the entire format, this card when buffed in hand can single (or, really multiple) handedly steal the game.

Ranking: A-

Even more so than Grumbo this card represents one of the major strategic pillars of this format. Because of its ubiquity there are a variety of cards that dramatically increase in value in support of this (Tenured Graviturgist, Windscreamer, Midnight Tinker, etc.) and generally once a few of these have been drafted into your deck many future decisions will likely center around the myriad "swarm synergies" available to the discerning drafter.

Ranking: A

Time is not known for having too many good tricks which makes this card a welcome addition, transforming high-health minions into potentially dangerous blockers.

Ranking: A-

Meh.

Ranking: C-

Time is also not known for having a plethora of well-statted early game minions which makes Harvester a uniquely valuable addition to the faction. The scout feature is also often a more useful advantage than the initial exhaustion a handicap.

Ranking: A-

The problem with this card is that one of its best uses would be as insurance against a board wipe of 1 health unleash minions (Grumbo, Swarm, etc.) were not that it would likely be killed as well in those cases. That said, given the general "go wide" theme of this format there is still value to be found in this Chronomatic Carouser.

Rating: C+

Remember "Behold the Truth"? Pepperidge Farm remembers. And Pepperidge Farm says, "fark this lame arse spell".

Rating: D+

Only Time could even hope to ramp sufficiently to make this worthwhile and even then, it's generally underwhelming.

Rating: C-

Last but very much not least, we have one of the essential elements of an effective unleash deck - the ability to return an already played unleashable (grumbo, swarm, etc.) and buff it for later and significantly more effective reuse. This is essentially having ones strategic cake and eating it too, for you can play an unleash card to mitigate an early threat (something Time traditionally struggles with) without entirely forsaking your eventual win condition.

Rating: A
